expecting some changes with my old forecasting group

expecting my extremely competent manager to resign in coming months
the stunted growth has had difficult longlasting consequences
it is impossible to double the staff as a remedy
so BrunHilda's legacy continues every day with understaffing, dumbed down duties, clerical overload

yes, I think a Gift Certificate to Dr Kevorkian anonymously sent from Florida, or perhaps fully endorsed by me, would be an appropriate response to BrunHilda

ironically, I will remain on the Staples softball team
rules permit one "ringer" to play per team
my manager promised me that ringer spot
last year my batting percentage was a lofty .710 with power
that is power between outfielders, not over outfielders
it will be good to maintain connection with those deadbeats
I only hope my colleague Buzz plays shortstop

it would be unfortunate if somebody releases the air out of BrunHilda's Lexus tires in the parking lot
she works late into the evenings oftentimes
that might inconvenience her

I'm glad I wasn't you during that. I had it easy where I worked, most everyone was old, and I was the young Turk, ready to take on all jobs, they loved me, since they where busy planning retirement and winding down there careers. When I retired before they did, my boss said to me. What you going to do with you time Greg. I said something on the order of the following, become an expert at retirement so by the time I'm your age I can play. What is retirement anyhow? I'm still trying to figure it out. It must be state of mind. <g>

One benefit of working for small companies ( I have worked for a few although now I'm in a big company) is that when you leave you can tell off the President/Owner personally. It's a special occasion when you can give cause and example from the top decision to the way it is carried out by the last member of the team. Sometimes I want to go back just because there was something else I forgot to let him know.

Jim,

I bet BH will never admit she was wrong regardless of the evidence presented to the contrary. Funny how those in positions of authority don't need to bother with facts & credible evidence to establish that they are right. Funnier still that these folks manage to continue to climb the corporate ladder, generally with much ease (& a trail of crushed subordinates who were used to grease the path).

Not to diminish your story Jim, but I've been there before with more than one employer. It's been my experience that your good work survives, or escapes, in spite of the obstacles created by these individuals. Unfortunately, it is usually at great cost to the individual tasked with the responsibility of accomplishing the assignments for which they will rarely be appropriately recognized.

And we are the world's economic powerhouse Go figure.

Well, at least she made it possible for you to become Free Willie with the great tan, screamin' beamer, superior TA & econ analysis, oh & that jackass style. For that BH, we porchies are grateful ;-)

my response to the scapegoated Back-to-School failure was calculated I passed around an Excel file to dozens of low level managers, middle managers, and a few select VP's the file contained itemization of BrunHilda's override to our forecast

Way to go JIM!!! I wish I played corporate politics as well as you.

Sorry to hear the whole thing didn't come out in your favor... but then, maybe it really has, eh?

Best,
JKS
