The problem isn't that The Economist doesn't understand that things are done differently in different places. Or that if you inquire in the right places you get some reasoning for why something was done a particular way, especially things that are part of the public record. The problem is when they get a bee in their bonnet (and who knows why on that count....) they get shrill and petty. Which is why I unsubscribed a few years ago..... don't need to pay to get a mailbox full of whining and moaning... either that or pompous twits waving Union Jacks.
