Well my thoughts on any potential buy out is nil. I guess you could always hope. But if you were to speculate assuming Cisco would drop their caching appliance then Novell would be a good fit for the ICS part of Novell's business. But I don't think Cisco would be a good fit for the E-Directory part of the business. In theory Oracle would be a better fit for E-Directory end of business by providing the heavy-duty database engine. Remember Directory Services is not really suited very well for holding information content that a "community" would like to share. But I'm not convinced that Oracle has the right technology for this either. What's needed is identity/relationship indexing to more of a pure object type database. Of course Novell is not doing anything with communities anyway so it's a moot point. It's always been funny to me that Novell has 50 million diamond's in the rough that are not being utilized. What I'm talking about is the Novell client. Every time someone new comes into management they always want to kill the client team off. It seems backwards to me. The client team should be driving the technology not the server side of the business. This is why Microsoft has and will continue to dominate because the technology is pushed out from the client perspective. The best fit for Novell is actually AOL IMHO. AOL gets it and communities would be a natural fit for them. Later Jimmy
