inpursuit, those are 2 Classic Posts - You're Right. This thread's seen bragging but phoney ego trips at someone else's expense aren't where it's at. Stockaholics-R-US - flubbing it one day, doing a stockdance the next, holding onto the bar or turning it off, taking it One Day At A Time. And about the timing of the Sells - Push The Button - KA-BOOM Off The Rail when it's Up There (& Don't Look Back) is the hardest part of trading for me: nailed some highs just because I sold it knowing I won't be around to watch it for the rest of the week so I better Push The Button Now. Also missed some big runups that way, too. Or taking a chance, I'll hold a stock for too long thinking it'll go much higher yet, then take my eyes off it for a couple of days and down it goes. Aaaaaarrrgh!! I've also been known to get hypnotized by bright colored shiny cyber software toys made for netnuts by A New Struggling Company - falling in love with a stock is another problem of mine. Usually handle FEAR & GREED ok - but LAZINESS/WORKDREAD can do me in LOL! Wish learning didn't involve that element of retrospect. FONLY EYED can be an awful tease playing that tiny violin! Sa-Tis-Faction with what $$ one DOES Get isn't easy when saying FONLEY EYED cashed everything in not even a year and a half ago - and bought some thousands INSP shares around 10, held & sold it at 277 recently after two splits ... but nooo, not me - I had to Quack and Diversify! So I don't have a Time Machine - Waaaaah!! Then again, comparing what I DID get to the small interest on savings accounts, or worse yet to being stuck in a Lazarus Bonds Fund or hoarding money i locked away from my own self in some trust or annuity .... Yep, compared to many - We're The Champs Of Wall Street !! Let's Give Ourselves A Round Of Applause!! The whole point of Techride's been Putting Our Heads Together FRIENDLY to Beat The Street. Sharing DD sources and discoveries without losing objectivity. Let the guru boards keep their sources to themselves and pretend they actually influence the market to stroke their own egos as they lie about ever losing money or missing the top! When a stock wins the guru who picked it with a system looks like a WS genius pulling another rabbit out of a hat for sheep who'll turn against that guru like a pack of wolves when a pick goes retro falling against the logic ... Who Needs It? Better admitting it's "Us Against Them" "No Sheep & No Leaders Here" "Make Money Have Fun" while inventing codes and language along the way - writing about the stockmarket in songs & made-up characters and omen stories - passing time friendly to brighten a dull day watching numbers. Long Live The Spirit Of SI and The Spirit Of Techride !!! And You're So Right about SI having so many winning people and picks around these boards, inpursuit. Winners outnumbering Losers by a mile, too ! It's been said how accessibility of information and conversation about investments on The Internet is a direct cause of this Bull Market (so naturally, there would be Forces who would want to Squash That Freedom...) The first night I got Online, went to MSN Investor to check my stocks. Knew nothing of Techs and Internets, except I'd bought some Gateway when I ordered the computer and it was already UP real nice. Saw the scope of instant 24/7 updated information available on my holdings... the quotes, the historicals, the screens ... Almost Flew Out Of My Seat: Pulled An All-Nighter! Didn't take long til I traded a DowDog or two for High-Risk Technet GROWTH Stocks like AOL NSCP SEG DELL and later (Must we talk about this? OK - another mea culpa - ZAP !! yep, zapata...) So just a few years later look at me now! If it weren't for the Internet (& luckily meeting my GR8 Pal Blue right away) I'd still be growing bluechips at splits with saved-up dividends, thankful to be out of the Mutual Funds that I'd sold to get those BlueChips when I got sick and tired of the treadmill paying the unpredictably high taxes on them only to watch 'em going down in NAV at the same time I had to take some money out to pay to keep holding 'em. Well, stocks can be like that too sometimes - but at least its one's own trading decisions and there shouldn't be any surprises come April. Time to talk about another thing now - I'm With Blue, and not posting on SI in protest either - because to insult his intelligence by reprimanding his attempt to clear board-raiding MORONS from Techride is Wrong. Maybe I'll get reprimanded for calling MULTOID MORONS what they ARE - say what I'm NOT SAYING, too - pffft, go ahead. I'm still a stockholder, but got 1/15 less shares than I once had. When my home board is raided by spewers of juvenilalia, I can't concentrate on my Internet Center and it disrupts my Workday Habits. Let them jump all over the place on all their boards unbothered - who cares - but to get IN THE FACE of folks who want their own friendly stocktalk in one place - now that's F*CKED UP. So now I'm upset my Money and Fun Place here is a shambles. What, is it Non-PC to be so JUDGEMENTAL of party crashers? Is it Being A Neo-Fascist to be MAD that Techride is in shambles from CHILDISH PRANKSTERS turning it into a Playpen? So it appears SI defends Overgrown Adolescents interrupting talk among Money-Making Family-Feeding ADULTS, and that's supposed to be acceptable? ITS NOT RIGHT !!! Trouble is, good conversations on Techride have been rudely (inexcusably) interrupted by JERKS PUSHING SOME AGENDA PRETENDING IT'S JUST A PRANK THEY PLAY FOR HOURS EVERY DAY too many times. And when SI reprimands a justifiably angry response (and On THIS Board, Not On Any Of Theirs) to a CHILDREN OF THE CORN invasion right here, It Invites Surmises that such allowing of wanton pranks & destruction of threads - might be playing to some certain interest. IF they really ARE so DUH-DOYDOY they're clueless..... like, Hey Knock Knock. Get A Grip SI. The Future Happens Fast, in Internet Time.... Still NOT saying IT, BUT .... siliconinvestor.com ndb.com jobs.com and monster.com and manpower.com - A Search in "Finance" "Marketing" "Consultants" "Writers" "PR" "Internet" "P/T At Home" shows plenty newfangled jobs out there getting paid to write on the internet promoting something or other. The "Employment" sections of Portals (like This One) and especially Start-Up .com Co's offer jobs in their "Opportunities" sections that Makes Ya Wonder, too. UC, it's like this - One either independently invests for one's own interest and writes for a joy of sharing to learn as an way to focus thoughts & exercise the old noodle & make friends - Or Not. One either thinks of their own profit as coming from another person's loss - Or Not. It's either one or the other - So We're All Bozos On This Bus.... It's that simple! It's All About The Ledger In The Cosmic Bank... Squeeze The Lemon And Make Lemonade, Always... Thanks and 909S, JOANA
