Docucorp Delivers Business Continuity Services; ASP Facilities Enable Uninterrupted Document Processing, Printing and Delivery During Disaster

DALLAS, Apr 11, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Docucorp(R) (Nasdaq:DOCC), a leading provider of enterprise information solutions, today announced the availability of a new business continuity service.
Provided through its two world-class application service provider (ASP) facilities, Docucorp's business continuity service enables companies to maintain critical document driven operations, like billing and form processing, should a disaster disable their own production capabilities.

"Unfortunately, we have witnessed the business disruption that can take place as a result of disasters, both man made and natural," said Kerry K. LeCrone, Docucorp's senior vice president of ASP. "Should disaster strike, Docucorp's business continuity services make available at a moment's notice our state-of-the-art production equipment, industry leading information software and outstanding technical staff, ensuring that clients can sustain their printing and billing functions with as little disruption as possible. All this is done for about two-thirds of the 'standby' fee charged by vendors who only warehouse extra equipment."

Docucorp maintains some of the most advanced production equipment available in its ASP facilities, including Gunther Series III finishers, a Gunther EP4000 flat inserter and Xerox high-speed MICR-enabled printers. This equipment, along with Docucorp's enterprise-class information software and highly experienced production staff, provide a tightly integrated service that, after initial setup, can be leveraged immediately upon request. Because the equipment and facilities are used everyday by Docucorp's ASP customers, business continuity customers don't have to worry about "cold" starts delaying their printing jobs.

To get started, clients supply Docucorp with all of their publishing resources (fonts and images), finisher control information (e.g., invisible inks, glyphs, OMR, etc.) and instructions for print, finish and mailing of each data file. The appropriate postage and supply arrangements are also established during initial setup, along with the designation of a person within the customer's organization to initiate the business continuity program during a disaster.

Immediately following initial setup and at least once per year, Docucorp personnel will test the complete print, finish and mail process, from receipt of the print spool file through sealing of the envelopes, to ensure exact customer specifications are met.

"Docucorp already provides complex, personalized print and mail services for some of the highest volume mailers in the country," added LeCrone. "Our business continuity services leverage this expertise, ensuring that in the face of disaster customers will be able to resume their operations seamlessly, painlessly and cost-effectively."
