Hi Mike - thanks for the article. I think the problem is that optical networking is such a huge umbrella that covers anything optical, but SONET and SDH --- where indeed ALA is a big player and to a lesser extant, ECIL is strong in this niche --- are not growing. Interestingly, both ALA and ECIL are trying to move into the DWDM space. So, if we are to look at the specific niche of the optical market with the strongest growth, the picture looks very different. For instance, leaving NT aside for a moment and look at the tale of two niche players, if one puts ECIL and CIEN side by side, there is a huge valuation gap between the two. Granted that the former may suffer a slight penalty for being seen as a foreign company, the gap is saying which slice of the optical market will be the trend going forward
