Len, That's right margin is a tool. That guy didn't loss it all because of margin, he lost it all because he didn't have the correct game plan. Worse, he was using one of the worse reason to buy a stock, because a stock has drop a lot does not make it a good buy. Throw in the emotion of GREED, and no wonder he was wiped out.

Comment about Fuel Industry. Everyone and his mother is working on them, <g> meaning many a company and even universities are working on them, so there will be too many companies to chose from, it will be hard to chose a king out of that.

Len, those are my feeling as well. Margin has worked wonders for me, and in my use of it, I've yet to experience a portfolio meltdown due to overuse or a margin call. My trigger is a bit quicker than yours, because I think about dollar declines, not price declines.

Also, I NEVER chase one down.
