Hi Mike - heehee, I am guilty of being sloppy. Here goes, my observation of SONET and SDH growth is based on ECIL performance in recent Qs [I think I am also a Saul Bellow type of investor <VBG>.] NT may very well have a big percentage of this market also, but my point is, NT has a big slice of the newer generation. If generic numbers mean anything at all, just today we see a 50% and 75% numbers thrown around in today PR. If NT is building 32 of 40 Europ networks [backbone?] and 75% of N American backbones [one would have to assume they are about fiber,] the perspective seems to be very different.

In truth, I am not a technie, so I rely on experts like e-Bill and you to tell me what is and what isn't. In that sense, I am guilty :). I mean, I am so lazy that I don't even care if NT breaks out the numbers or not. Sure, some analysts want more details, but they know what to ask and I don't!

To my knowledge, optical x-connect is fairly new and I don't follow ALA, so I plead guilty too! It remains, the article you posted did say digital cross connect, and not optical cross connect.

best, Bosco
