Yes....It is a fictional account of the second-best jazz guitarist in the world, a person of absurd vanity and fecklessness who played like an angel, and who stood so in awe of Django Reinhardt, the BEST, that he fainted in his presence, and cried when he listened to Django's recordings. The conceit is that the record of his life is spotty, with many versions of anecdotes, and various jazz experts are interviewed about him, interpolated in dramatization. The cinematography and set design are wonderful, the script is very good, and Sean Penn does a great job in the lead......They use Reinhardt recordings for his playing......
