Re: direct no-haggle car sales on the net. My company is in the process of a public offering to implement a brick-and-clicks auto retailing model in Canada. I'd be interested in the threads opinion of what market share this distribution model will take this year and 3 years out.

Who services your car? What do you do if it has a problem during the warrantee period?
Car dealers don't make much on new car sales. They make their margins on service/repairs and on used cars. Their margins are thinner and they bend more for their regular clients. Also, time is money. They won't leave their regular clients standing around as might be the case with an unknown. I'll take the local supplier any day over the net supplier, and for the same reason that I buy my PCs from a local cloner.
