Thank you, Mark. You have confirmed my suspicions and what I have previously heard. I need to keep several programs running at a time and I don't have room for a memory hog. Also, if no protection against down times...what's the benefit? Anyone?
Thanks,
Papillon

hi,
I just found this thread, having received and installed Velocity just now.
It looks just like streetsmart for the web.
and it looks like a pig since it uses the marimba kernel to do its work. on NT, its footprint is a whopping 20MB!

and it even comes w/ a periodic timeout, requiring re-entering ones pwd every so often... typical schwab application (yuck!).

but it beats having to sludge thru their klunky website to do trades. Velocity is much faster for dialup users like me.

I did notice that Velocity does not (yet?) include the 'advanced' option trading (spread orders in particular).
too bad.
