>> The Ericsson R190's small size is enabled by GMSS, which is derived from the popular GSM standard and exploits the filters, mixers and RF base band components already present in a GSM handset. <<

This and the lack of a dual mode GSM/CDMA chipset means that GSM/CDMA sat mode handsets will be larger and more expensive than GSM/GMSS handsets. Also, ERICY designed GMSS, unlike the CDMA satellite air interface for which they have to pay royalties, Don't be surprised if ERICY does a better job in rolling out new and improved GSM/GMSS phones than Globalstar GSM/CDMA phones that would compete in Asia with their all Ericsson technology GMSS phones.

Mika: The "test" of the ACeS Ericsson phone now is a clear slap across the face with the back of the hand against Globalstar by Ericsson.

We now know why the Ericsson Globalstar phones were delayed.

This makes that clear.

A direct doublecross.

The Ericsson contract should be cancelled by Globalstar.
