While I would like MSFT to go as high as it can, don't be too excited about the impact of a settlement. I think majority of settlement gain is already factored in. There will be restrictions on MSFT conduct and I suspect opening up windows 98 source code. So market may put a damper to execessive surge in stock because of the additional restrictions from govt going forward.

Given the moves in ORCL, SUNW, INTC, CSCO and many other big cap tech names over the last 12-18 months of this DOJ farce, MSFT has lagged. I do not consider it excessive to say that MSFT can be a double or more by the end of the year, once this thing settles.
