Jake and All:

Have you guys heard this News Corp, Murdoch talk on CNBS about a hostile bid for all of GM, to get at the GM Hughes/direct TV stuff?

Fascinating.

Is the world waking up to the fact that some of these oldline companies are cheap? Murdoch wants the Hughes part which is about 20 Billion. Now GM owns its, and it's only about 50 Billion itself. I guess the figuring goes that if GM won't sell the tracking stock Hughes, then why not buy the whole damn thing. Sell off the GM auto part, sell off the finance arm, etc, etc.

With all these depressed oldline prices and the soaring to Pluto valuations of the new economy are we soon going to witness the return of the leveraged buyouts?
