Scumbria,

Didn't your daddy tell you not to count your chickens before they've hatched?

No one is in denial, I just can't figure out how you can compare shipping processors from operational FABS to "potential" stuff from a non-production FAB. Worse you don't bother yourself with details like, "What will Intel be shipping by the time AMD does poop production something out of Dresden?".

Scumbria, <Nice to see the Intel thread in denial.>

So you think the 13 million Athlons projected for this year by Jerry Sanders himself will make a big impact on Intel's market share and margins? Consider the fact that Intel produced 31 million processors in Q4 alone, and most of those weren't even Coppermines. As Intel continues ramping up Coppermine production, you can bet that their volumes for this year will be even higher.

Of course, AMD will probably enjoy healthy margins on those 13 million Athlons. Plus, I wouldn't doubt that Jerry is sandbagging a little. But either way, AMD's volumes won't even come close to Intel's, even with Dresden factored in.
