87 is only 10pts away.

well then make the most of it..... but seriously CSCO has been something to experience.

The Cider House Rules was very good.

Tobey McGuire is a very good actor. Michael caine was also great.

Charlize was very good as Charlize..... -g-

Hi everyone!

You all are such wonderful peach pickles to send me happy wishes and beautiful flowers and balloons!

The hospital was getting quite the kick out of all the flowers I had and one joked it was a good thing I was leaving early otherwise they'd have to move me to a bigger room just to fit the foliage! :-)

I loved them all and it made my stay there more calming, very much so, then hospital visits - especially when things aren't going the right way - usually are.

So, here is the scoop.

I was supposed to be in for the full week whilst they did a trial for an intrathecal epidural pump. Fancy word for sticking a straw into your back and pumping tons of narcotics into the spinal cord.

Well, thanks to genetics from my Dad, I have a naturally low blood pressure that sits around 96/54 on a normal day but when they gave me the "stuff" I dropped to 80/50. When you wake up to a team of nurses and a few doctors scattered around yelling "can you hear me!!!" you know it ain't good. At least the guy with the paddles didn't show up. :-p

I'm just too sensitive to medication. I knew this and it was my chief concern going into the trial. They kept reducing the medication but I'd pass out and couldn't stay awake or I'd get violently ill which I have to say doesn't feel at all good with a poopy back.

They tried one more time with the lowest dose they could on Tuesday morning and 45 minutes later I was fast asleep and an hour later I was sick. So, the doc said that's it, it won't work and you can go home. They did offer for me to stay longer but you can never get any sleep in those places.

They will try other forms of medication to help me so we haven't given up.

The procedure did cause some additional discomfort in my, until yesterday, good leg but I am sure that is only temporary.

The worse to come of all this is that I can't bathe for 4 days and well... you can just imagine. I'm off to a hair saloon today to have them wash my hair at least so I don't scare the neighbors. The rest can be taken care of with a sponge bath.

I actually thought I could take my work for the University to the hospital and make some progress. Ha! Yeah, well - I'm taking the week off 'cause I find I need about 5 naps a day. I'm pooped but in good spirits and really quite fine.

My flowers are all now placed at various places in my house so I see one all the time.

Thank you all very much, I really appreciate your kindness and attention. :-)

On the investing front (I'm never too sick for that doncha know) I'm in QQQ, CMB, SANM (today). All do extremely well.
Yay!

Jannie bo bannie.

Thanks for the birthday wishes too! Next year I think I'll opt for a cruise instead of surgery if anyone wants to join me. tee hee
