Same here. I'm waiting on the proof that ONT will either keep its lead in the streaming codec (i.e., coming up with still further improvement while competition lags), become a high traffic portal, or profitably offer back-end streaming to sites, e-mail users, and others who will pay for the best. There's no doubt MSFT can win by giving away somewhat inferior technology, but I await proof that the Windows Media Player is going to be even close to what ONT has. It sure isn't now.

I see no way to know (maybe one or two knowledgeable readers can comment) whether it will be as effective and cheaper for MSFT to hire whomever it takes to develop its own streaming codec, than to buy ONT. Looking even at ONT's now-flattened market cap, you have to believe it will be far cheaper for Softie to do it in-house or buy it elsewhere, than to buy ONT. I took my initial investment off the table and I'm staying in to see how it plays out.
