IMO, the most impressive piece from today's press release is management expects to grow EPS between 30 and 40% over the next two years. Wow!

We are truly witnessing something rarely seen...a huge corporation accelerating its earnings growth to levels usually reserved for small, nimble, well managed growth stocks.

BBD deserves a PE multiple around 45 if they can deliver, [and if history is any indication, they will]. Lucent, the most widely held stock in the US, is forecasted to grow earnings around 17% over the next two years and currently has a PE around 60 or so. BBD, by any comparison is undervalued, even with the recent run up. Hey, if BBD is going to accelerate their profitability, I'm willing to pay more for 1$ of their earnings (PE)

Here's where the price of one BBD share will be in two years;

just announced, FY 2000 EPS = $1.00

FY 2001 EPS = $1.35 [I'll take the middle of BBD's forecast and use 35% EPS growth]
FY 2002 EPS = $1.82

$1.82 x PE of 45 = $81.90

BBD will split this quarter and again within two years. Take it to the bank.

This story just keeps getting better.
