John:

I did see that one earlier but assumed everyone was well aware of why it is different this time round...thought everyone, by now, understood that the roles have been reversed with the introduction of the "spry Athy" in mid 1999 which has provided AMD with the MHz, price and performance lead in microprocessor production...Seems there is more than just one Paul out there who choose to act on past events as opposed to looking forward...To complete the point raised in that article, inasmuch as AMD is now the processor king, the conclusion which should follow is that a stripped down Athy is about to decimate any PWeeIII offering in any would-be price war! Oh well, all of this should become very evident to the "Pauls" of the world, at the very latest, when AMD releases Q1 results on April 12, after the market close!
