Wishful Thinking--NOK hears the Japanese& Korean & Chinese footsteps. 1)1XTREME is to (MOT+NOK) as IRIDIUM is to MOT 2)1XTREME is to year 2002 as HDR is to year 2000 3)Telecos waiting for 1XTREME indicates 1)impending competative disagvantage, 2) they are European Serf Organizations protected by lumbering, rusty, anticompetative Eurpopean Governments, 4)they will build no terestrial facilities for CDMA in China, 5) they suffer fron the deer in the headlights syndrone, 6) all the above. 4) the $1.4 billion Chinese govt financing just obtained by UNICOM will not be spent on CDMA and it won't be followed by a UNICOM stock issue in the US of mayme $3.6 billion which will also be spent on CDMA 5) China didn't turn its back on its traditional N Korean allies to buy CDMA equipment and assistance from Korea. 6) China wasn't impressed by the way Korea exported CDMA equipment to help lift itself out of an economic recession and China doesn't want to do likewise. 7) NOK and MOT didn't have th opportunity to embrace and guide CDMA and decide instead to take the thunderhead approach of fighting it every inch of the way. 8) MOT and NOK won't have the distinction of providing the material for future Harvard Business School case studies in handling disruptive technology. 9) China isn't pissed at NOK and ERICY for installing GSM with minimal technology transfer to China. 10) China doesn't want the best wireless technology available ASAP for their country.
