Scumbria, <I suspect the Mips/Watt rating of Transmeta will be 2 orders of magnitude better than Merced.>

Mips/Watt. That's a new one. I didn't know customers who purchased servers cared about that.

By the way, want to compare the Mips/Watt ratings between Athlon and Coppermine?

P.S. - On a more serious note, would you ridicule McKinley if it had similar power requirements as Merced?

Re: "Transmeta can emulate Merced emulating IA32 faster than Merced can emulate IA32"

Another of your urban legends. Merced doesn't emulate IA32. It executes the binaries directly.

Using this, a 1G PIII is about 2x of a 1G Athlon right ?

Scumbria,

RE: I'm looking forward to the Transmeta IA64 port.

Gee Wally, I'm looking for the TV phone and two-way wrist watch communicator too.
