Coulda, woulda, shoulda, but didn't.

And you should have bought Corning Glass when I recommended it to a gentleman here months ago.

So Tench, you own two stocks, Intel and RAMBUS?
Not too shabby...

Ten,

What can you expect from a company that has yet to penetrate the high-volume business markets?

No one ever got fired for buying an Athhhhlon. They might get fired for trying to pronounce it with a straight face however.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure that a straight person can pronounce it properly.

Tench, RE: "And yet there seems to be ample supply of Athlons out there going for real cheap, even though the volumes are definitely much lower than Coppermines. Perhaps AMD has it all wrong, trying to target a retail market that is more interested in 500 MHz Celerons than 800 MHz Athlons."

That's a very good point, and well said. It's like trying to sell $60K autos under the Ford nameplate, there just isn't a market. If folks are willing to spend $60K, they want a Mercedes. And the only Mercedes in the microprocessor market is Intel.

Maybe AMD marketing can raise their image from a low end OEM or a DIY product, but I doubt it. They seem to have the wrong product, at the wrong price, at the wrong time.

Ten, Re: Funny, I didn't see Jim telling everyone that he bought AMD at the same time that he sold INTC. Maybe he should have bought "RAMBUST" instead, which is now up over 300%. <VBG>

He definitely have not bought AMD but into biotech, XLNX, QCOM may be JDSU too. We all know Jim.
