I am not sure of your rationale in stating this. Perhaps you could explain.

It would seem to me that Ericsson's evolving expertise in this arena is very valuable to Globalstar.

The collaboration between ACeS, Ericsson and Lockheed Martin on GMSS and Ericsson's development of a phone for the ACeS network, dates back at least to 1996, perhaps longer. Certainly Globalstar has been well aware of Ericssons development in all facets of satellite service as a supplement or fill in to GSM as well as CDMA network service.
