sorry to disagree but MMs decide on the quote, not the public orders unless it is one of the national NASDQ stocks they are REQUIRED to show public quotes. small cap & bulletin board never show public quotes. if MMs were so altruistic why would NASD have required them to show quotes & why would they have ordered the to narrow the quote spread? if the quotes were public quotes the problem would have taken care of it's self. the MM SETS the quote to accommodate his position whether he needs to go long, go short, sell longs, or cover shorts. can you give an example of a public order changing the quote? dale
