I would be very surprised if CPQ did not meet its 16 cents for 1Q. With the absence of IBM and PB from the retail space and Intel/AMD near 52 week high, CPQ would have to REALLY SCREW UP to miss their numbers.

...assuming the rumor is based on fact.

Companies I'm familiar with know by now and begin to either push revenue out or pull it in from the next quarter. Those companies are in the 10 bil. range. I'm sure Compaq's situation is more difficult, but I'm sure they can estimate close enough to accomplish the same thing.

victor...Maybe it's our friend
Url Mason who started the
rumour (notice the English "ou")
on the Yahoo thread.

The Two "E"'s...Earl and Eckhardt
were probably sitting at their DELL computer
typing on the Yahoo Board.

"Und now mein Freund, Earl, Vee hav zem!
Vee mak siss rumour und ze Schtock, it goss daun."

"But Eckie, you still have options"

"Ach Du Lieber!, nau I hav to vait viss all
ze osser Schtockholters."

(Ah, were are the good old days.)
