EGRP did well today -- with everyone else -- until the last couple of hours when it dropped like a stone but with no volume. AMTD and EGRP go up and down together when there's any serious money involved, but this afternoon AMTD carried on up. I note that EGRP is back up to about 28 1/4 in after-hours trading, and I imagine we'll see a minor pop tomorrow morning. I'll look at Island tomorrow morning between 9 and 9:30 am EST and that'll give me a good idea of where we're going. In the absence of any news I'll probably put in a Limit Sell at 29. I like to be cashed out over the weekend before I go sailing. All next week I'm attending a workshop at Camp Allen, TX, so I'll be effectively incommunicado. Perhaps you'll see the boys keep in order.

Toot, toot.

Fido, whose happy with the 40% rise since we were at 20 a few weeks ago.

PS. When is the quarterly meeting?

I highly doubt my 1000 share offer to buy caused the drop in price, but the order never filled.

I had a day only order to buy 1000 shares of EGRP that I placed in the last hour:
EGRP - E-TRADE GROUP INC
Action Qty Price Time Limit Time & Date
Buy 1,000 Limit 24 7/16 Day Only 03:19pm 03/23/2000 ET

Nothing Done 1,000 04:35pm 03/23/2000

who knows.... only the shadow....

But I might try again tomorrow. IN the long run I'll be looking for the stock price to keep climbing as EGRP continues to dominate the world.

Perhaps some other people are placing low orders to buy.... but I would expect much more shares than a mere 1000 to make a price drop.
