I understand your point but it became even more ridiculous because what he said was obviously designed to look like heavy duty economic thinking when it was in fact wrong.

What he said in plain English was that they shouldn't have allowed the interest on their bonds to float....[ This means that the amount of interest paid would be tied to some inflation index ] in an inflationary economy. The problem with this is that as everyone knows it isn't an inflationary economy! And since the inflation is low the rate of interest paid would be low benefiting the lender.

So what they accomplished was to make a a black man with a Nigerian accent appear to be trying to look well versed in complicated business matters when in fact he isn't.
