Anyone betting on traders taking positions ahead of the OPEC meeting? I am. To a certain extent it's happened all week, but we still haven't seen the volume on many of these issues. Tomorrow and especially the last two hours will be a good preview of next week.

I seriously don't understand how anyone with even a basic understanding of this sector would bet that OPEC would hike more than 2 mil which is still .5 less than what the world needs (at least according to some). Even the spin this week had NO EFFECT. Oil prices coming down 20% recently before the OPEC meeting without a sector retrace makes this a slam dunk.

I will be FULLY MARGINED by the close. I'm close now. Either way the laggards have very little downside regardless.

It's time to ask yourself what you believe. They're just sitting out there with their money. Are you man enough to take it?

<Whats your point>

I think this Sarge\Slider\FGH discussion stopped having a point a long time ago (assuming that there ever was any point).

Hopefully you can post more now that you don't have to save the good stuff for your newsletter. Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge with us.

Best Regards,
Area51

Hello Big Dog!

As a subscriber to your Offshore Drilling Bits, let me say that it will be missed. I'm glad I saved the last issue. Perhaps it will be worth a lot of money some day. <g>

You were the first, (of what I call), oil gurus that I followed, when I started to follow this sector. I can still recall the day when a Yahoo poster excitedly exclaimed that you posted on the SI board under the name of Big Dog. In my naivete, I thought I was in on a big scoop. I've followed you and SI ever since.

Thanks for all of your insights and helping me understand this business a lot better.

dabum

PS - Boom 2000 T-shirts was a good idea, in my opinion.

The Point!

A few weeks ago when the MOUTH was posting no institutional interest in FGH, he stated institutional ownership was only 10 to 11%.

When the facts (institutional ownership had risen from 17.3% to 31.1%) were posted , he suddenly became a BUYER, citing institutional interest in his reason for doing so:
insidertrader.com

When the MOUTH was posting no analysts were recommending FGH, I posted this information:
"We believe that at current prices, the stock is undervalued relative to its leading position and earnings power (over $2.00 per share) from deep-water rig construction orders that are likely to be received in the current drilling recovery. We reiterate our purchase recommendation with a target price of $20"
streetadvisor.com
This was followed by a vicious attack by The Mouth on the advisory service with nothing to substantiate his claims. The ONLY reason for the attack WAS that FGH was included on their recommend list.

Current remarks by the advisory service:

"The price decline of Friede Goldman [FGH]--from more than $8 to just over $6 in the past month--relates to contract disputes with Ocean Rig and PetroBrasil over rigs under construction. However, the company has settled with Ocean Rig, and I think the same will probably happen with PetroBrasil. As the drilling cycle progresses, I believe Friede Goldman has the engineering and manufacturing skills that will enable it to win orders for deep-water rig construction. This business will lead to earnings and earnings projections that will justify market prices above our target price of $20 per share, so I continue to recommend the stock.." streetadvisor.com

Comments: Institutions spend millions on INFORMATION. THEY are NET BUYERs. The choice for those who monitor this message board is simply DO YOU WANT to FOLLOW the SMART money or the coordinated Boiler Room drivellings from Slider,JimL, etal?.

BOTTOM LINE: I believe Mr. Holloway when he states he expects significant improvements, THIS YEAR. If he is right, FGH will likely double or triple this year. If he is WRONG, I will have to WAIT until he is RIGHT. THE ONE thing I know for DAMN sure is I will be accumulating NOT selling UNTIL I KNOW the answer. I sure as hell don't expect HONEST answers from the Boiler Room Petro-Scream crowd of Pump & Dump.

Good Luck
