Yes, Bosco. Nortel has manufacturing know how and they also have knowledge and expertise in testing their products. The article that I posted points out that the Core-Tek laser can switch at nanosecond speeds. This means they are halfway there in terms of packet by packet routing at the optical layer. In any event, Nortel appears to have the edge in technical expertise in optical networking. I would also argue their network management system is now the de facto optical network management system.
