>>>>CPQ was at about 9 in March of 96, so we're at least a 3-bagger from that time<<< Whew, talk about a stretch to find something positive in this mess! Kinda reminds me of the following: Dr. walks into a hospital room and tells his patient that he has come to deliver good news and bad news and asks the patient which he cares to hear first. The patient replies, "give me the bad news first." The Dr. says, "well, I'm going to have to amputate both of your legs." The patient quickly responds, "then what's the good news?" The Dr. replies, " the good news is that the guy in the next bed wants to buy your slippers!." El

rudedog...not all investors or
speculators have been in the stock
as long as you have.

I made my first CPQ stock purchase in July '97.
I now own a measly 9K which isn't much, but enough
irritate, a bit.

Let's use Andreas time frame of September 1997.
I will use closing price Monday Sept. 15 1997 closing.
(this is a more favorable comparison than Andreas' $37 CPQ price.)

Stock....SEPT97.........MAR 00
DOW......7721.14.......11148.32
NASDAQ...1634.92........5033.03
CPQ...$32.156...........$29.25
DELL...$10.92...........$58.5
HWP...$65.25............$147.5
IBM...$48.125...........$119.5
AAPL...$21.5............$141.25
GTW...$15.90............$57.875

HWP, LU, and today JNJ all came out with
statements trying to support the stock.

It would give me more long-term confidence
in CPQ if they came out with a statement even
if as a result the stock would go lower than it is
now.
