If you are looking for a report on the E*Brokerage industry specifically E*Trade and it's competitors, Robertson Stephens did a pretty detailed report on it and it includes lots of the historical data you are looking for. I think they said that between SCH and EGRP, over 50%(54%?) of all new accounts were going to those two with EGRP having the higher percentage.
