Wall Street Journal is happy for people to use their publication without paying rent! Cool! Now we don't have to worry about outright cutting and pasting their articles where we like. They don't think a modern economy should accommodate 'rentiers' such as QUALCOMM. So, don't pay Wall Street Journal any rent. Copy and paste their previously copyrighted material without concern. It seems to say that the Wall Street Journal is a slimeball crowd, which must mean they've evolved into hagfish, which must explain their antipathy to QUALCOMM. They seem to think 'sliming' is good?!! < To: Mika Kukkanen who wrote (8140) From: samim anbarcioglu Friday, Mar 31, 2000 7:55 AM ET Respond to Post # 8143 of 8169 Mika, The following is an excerpt from a WSJ editorial. Describes the motivation of Europeans in this mud slinging that you call a debate: The following is an excerpt from Wall Street Journal, issue 3/29/2000, pp A-23, by Holman Jenkins, titled "Busting the Intellectual Bubble" : <Motorola and Ericsson made it clear they never shared the market's euphoria over Qualcomm's stronghold in wireless. Motorola recently launched 1XRTT, a standard to upstage Qualcomm in wireless broadband. The incentives to work around, erode or slime Qualcomm's patents are a healthy thing. We shouldn't pooh-pooh the social virtues of a certain amount of patent infringement. A modern economy will tolerate rentiers only up to a point. > Also, what "crap" do you remember from the CT2? and why is it crap. Chaz, sorry for the interjection.
