I tried to look up the benefits, and what I came up with were various interesting adjustments to the pregnancy: the lungs are not strained; although the heart is, somewhat, blood pressure is normally reduced, and there is a drop in strain in the last trimester; the liver develops in a way that can handle the increased work load efficiently. I am afraid I may have mixed up these impressive adjustments with stuff like the research on nursing and cancer. Of course, there are various discomforts noted, and potential complications, but the mother's body adapts to the pregnancy very nicely. Since I cannot find anything on the glow, and can't recall where I may have read something along those lines, I withdraw it......

By the way, I am sure that my view is colored by the relative ease of my wife's pregnancy. She didn't even have morning sickness, and did thrive, although I suppose that may have been an emotional thing........
