*** Warning, totally OT! - OX, no offense whatsoever. Statistics don't apply to exceptions and I am one. Since you ask, I'll keep on surprising you: yes I am living in the US (Texas), been here for 4 years. Before that I have lived on most continents. There are many things I like in the US and I will probably stay to live here. However, I am very selective. I never set foot in a McDonald (or similar), don't drink soda (last time I had Coke probably over 5 years ago), don't watch "Local" TV, don't watch sitcoms, never have seen Star-Trek, don't read local newspapers, don't watch sports, and the list goes on... On the other hand, I love the US as a country, love the American way, love Californian wine (+some others), love quality American movies (and there are plenty!), love the US entrepreneurial spirit, the way people relate to money (it's not a dirty thing here). I do have a TV, but only connected to digital satellite and I watch movies channels + financial news pretty much exclusively. I listen all day long to KUT (Univerversity of Texas Radio, a quality radio with no ads), read a few good News magazines and don't miss a Jazz concert in town. I try to identify what does not add to Quality of Life and avoid it... Behaving this way, I probably miss on a few things (Doonesburry maybe?), but I have plenty left to satisfy me. And most of all, I use Macs, have owned over 15 of them since! I bought my first in UK in September 1984, and have carried its successors from the Amazon jungle to South China Sea... One thing I appreciate in life, is the freedom to choose your life... One of my remaining constraints is my daily job, but I am working on this...
