Thanks so much for that post Dealer. I`m truly one of those babes and am struggling trying to figure this all out. Have yet to make my first covered call. Still waiting for Ameritrade approval. I appreciate all the post, but I need basic elementary stuff. Thanks again.

Jamie

Dealer,
Thanks a million for that post. It makes me feel better to know I am not the only one still taking baby steps. I know it's difficult for the other more experienced people on the porch, but please bare with me as I try to catch up.

I have sold covered calls on all of my QCOM. April 135's. So, it sounds like I should just sit tight until expiration day?? Hope I haven't made a mistake.

Advice please, from anyone...appreciated in advance.
LL

<<Voltaire's strategy is for those that are satisfied with a % a month and are willing to let the calls ride until expiration day or the day before and at that time buy them back for less because of the time lapse. This is what makes this system stress free. You are adding the stress back in.>>

Understood !

I am merely trying an approach that encompases a little of 2 stategies.....1)writing for the income and being content when your stock is called. 2) writing for income and protection and trying to hold your stock.

1) is pretty cut and dried 2) can get a little tricky. if you dont want your shares called, it, like you said, requires more strategy.

That is exactly why i asked for others opinion and I believe your opinion was for me to wait until near expiration when time value has eroded and go from there.

That is more the way I was elaning as welol, bit it still doesnt hurt to get others opinions...after all,as you said, many of us are all learning together. Some know more then others, but even the most astute option player I am sure can still learn something new every day.

Have a great weekend
