Could this be due to the fact that the bbh is a trading vehicle itself, and not just an index? Thus, its price can reflect investor demand for its stock, rather than just the prices of the stocks in its basket?

I ask because I am tempted to use the bbh as a proxy for price movement in the biotech sector. However, if the bbh's price can reflect investor demand for the bbh itself, its usefulness as an index proxy is somewhat limited.
