I can't remember disagreeing with you on anything. I'm sure there is SOMETHING we disagree on. Perhaps our taste in literature or movies is dissimilar? I've recently read The Professor and the Madman, reread An American Tragedy, read the Bookshop and The Blue Flower, and right now I am reading Kaaterskill Falls (it's very good) and I am going to start moore's Utopia. I also have some books loaned to me by the ladies in my book group which I have to finish by next month so I can give them back. One is a work of fiction covering similar territory as Angela's Ashes- and I thought it would be interesting to compare. And I also bought a work by Tagore- because I thought I should read something by him.

As for movies- I saw the Limey last night and thought it was excellent. Hard to categorize- brilliant acting. I really liked it. I've seen several really good movies lately- I loved Run, Lola, Run- and I watched Sliding Doors right after it because I liked the contrast. I really enjoyed 3 seasons- the Vietnam film, and The King of Masks was WONDERFUL- one of the few Chinese movies i really really felt good about watching (not all the way through, of course, that would be asking too much- but the END was good, and that is enough). I saw William Macy in a Slight Case of Murder- which is a super noir sendup/black comedy- a bit disturbing but so well done I didn't mind. I saw the Lovers on the Bridge and thought it was well done but very weird. And not very enjoyable for me. I've seen lots more movies- but these are the ones I recall off the top of my head. I am looking forward to Mansfield Park and Happy Texas coming out on video.
