STK has always had good products, especially their tape libraries, but they can't seem to get much traction with their disk offerings. For example, their Shared Virtual Array only goes up to just shy of 2TB. That's less than half of EMC and IBM's current offerings. They seem to be really focused on the mainframe market, still, probably to the detriment of revenue.

That, plus the fact that they are CEO-less, and it makes for a fairly directionless company with great products. That's not a good recipe for success. The sales force needs that leadership to be in place in order to appear viable.

It'll be interesting to see what happens after they find a CEO. They've still got a lot of potential for revenue, but they'll still be a Chimp in disk storage, without some amazing breakthrough.

All of this is MVHO.
