Jim,

Spitfires-

Made in Penang?

Or at the new Deathstar?

Or I heard they could be engineering samples from Austin.

InTel doesn't know..........

I'm still waiting for that new top secret double probation copper mobile CPU from Dresden that runs 1100 Mhz using only 1 watt of power.

FAB30 ain't empty, eh Jim?

Mcmannis - Our Bam Bam Ja Ja Man

Re: "SPITFIRE
550 - $79
600 - $99
650 - $140
700 - $175"
Where did this Spitfire chip come from? I've never heard of it before. Is it any threat to Intel. Looks kind of like it competes again Celeron only faster. Sure AMD will screw up production or something right"

Cooooooollll !!!

Now we Intel Investors can watch AMD's AthWiper sales go to ZERO as the SpitFarl will be CHEAPER and JUST AS FAST !!!

Look for a SEVERE IMPACT on AMD's revenue as AMD's customer base goes for the CHEAPER CHIP !!!

There's a good chance that AMD will SHOOT THEMSELVES IN BOTH FEET with a screwed up SEGMENTATION STRATEGY - one that they are trying to COPY from Intel.

You never would expect anything original from AMD !

Paul

I think it was actually a misprint in the initial press releases. They meant to call it BACKFIRE not SPITFIRE.

I guess AMD is all about truth in advertising now.<ggg>
