Given that my response pertains more to our (fSONA's) product, I will keep this short. At least in our case we use a single receive aperture and multiple transmit apertures. The receive aperture is much larger than the transmit apertures. As a result of this design the optical paths are of identical lengths and the electrical paths have all been dealt with appropriately.

Given my commentary is more specific to the fSONA product, further discussion on this topic should really take place on the fSONA thread.
