You could do that. Or assuming your broker isn't a "screwup" (and unfortunately some are, JW is right on this topic - i.e. you get what you pay for - sometimes) then you could wait until your going to be called (and you for whatever reason don't want to roll out) and then purchase. See

On a more general perspective, my approach is more the patient angler. Don't try to force things, just wait. This market is turbulent. Be alert and opportunistic. Sooner rather than later a "golden opportunity" will present itself. Let the market come to you. Just one "way of doing things", not the only way, but works for me.
