MarblesInHead,

OT: Pluvia...if you really thought it was worth "under a buck" you wouldn't be covering...all the time...now would ya? or are you too chicken?

It has been much more profitable to trade - as in cover, then reshort higher, then cover reshort higher etc...

Ever trade has yielded a nice profit, and the net profit is much higher than short and hold... I can always count on you and your sheep to buy on news allowing me to make more money again.

WIRED mag is coming out with a book about how guys like us take money from fish like you - it's titled Dumb Peoples Money...

I suggest you read it.

Cheers

Why do you doubt Pluvia, MaryinRed?

You wrote:

Sure he would - if he's a good trader.

Stocks move in cycles, whether they are going up or going down. Some people are investors, and stick with a long or short position for the long-haul. Others are traders, and move in and out, buying the dips and selling the peaks, or (in Pluvia's case) shorting the peaks and covering on the dips.

He's obviously a trader.

And, why not? A good trader can outperform an investor by hundreds of percentage points per year.

Further, he's quite clearly stated his position on the stock - he is short, and he beleives the stock is headed lower. And if you read his posts on other boards, you will see that shorting is primarly what he does. Why would you doubt him?

It seems to me that you are attempting to paint his position as other than it is in a desparate attempt to "defend" EDIG.

I don't know why we have to have all the meta-talk about why so-and-so is saying such-and-such. Why can't we just all respect the opinions of others, and realize that some people's opinions are just not going to be the same as ours, and that nobody is "right" or "wrong", unless we have some sooth-sayers here who can tell the future?

Mary, I still have quite a few thirty cent shares I might let some shorts have to cover with... of course I wouldn't dream of parting with even one at less than $40. I, for one, have always considered shorting to be a very poor investment strategy, since it is impossible to make more than 100% on any given investment. (A lousy return these days.)
