i thnk goldshares will make a final low this week near the '98 lows.. but we'll see.. there is the equal possibility off a blastoffto the 1997 highs.... the close below 60 on fri however suggests a move lower.

If Greenspan is not able to pull off another soft landing, the economy will go into a recession, the dollar will sell off dramatically and you will see $1,000 Gold.

The great speculators in the financial markets are betting that Greenspan will succeed again. One need only look at the POG, along with the current valuation of the S@P and Nasdaq to see that this is the case.

On the other hand- and this is a possibility that must be considered here- if Greenspan is able to pull off another soft landing, the Dow will be at 36,000 in 20004-2005.

PS The odds of pulling off 2 soft landings in a row are slim.
