Casaubon, thanks for the compliments, I do not know what to write to make it clearer.

Investing is to buy stock in a company you believe in made your home work and meets the criteria I mentioned......then you pray that your scenario will pan out.

Now because you can not predict 3 to 5 year in advance you spread your risk among several companies who meet your criteria in hope that the winner will out weight the losers.

AS to your example .... you are making an educated gamble on the company you joined.......there is no guaranty that next year some one else will come out with a better drug (mouse trap as they say) than that of your company.

Aside all as any product marketing and distribution is a great part of the success of any new drug.

The current run in the bio tech stocks was more related to great PR from those companies, lots of cash infusion by the FED and MOMO player that know about drugs less than I can think of.......... threfore the steep decline resulting from a statement of the obvious.

BTW now I understand why you are so biased toward bio tech.
