Ted Re <<I thought Fab 25 was converting to cu as well but I can't tell you where I got that info although doesn't it make sense that it would be converted to copper ultimately....I mean, why would AMD maintain product lines that are inconsistent with each other?>>

Fab 25 is not design for Copper, the contamination issue would be big. It will also take a huge investment to have it converted. Much more than it cost to convert from 0.25 to 0.18. I guess I would not be shocked if it was converted at 0.13, but I still doubt it.

Re <<Does the fact that it is at 0.18 um mean that spitfires could be produced there?>>

I am fairly certain that spitfire wafers have already been started at fab 25.

I would imagine that Fab 25 would ultimately be converted to copper as well. To my understanding, the smaller the process the more evident it is that you should be using copper and not aluminum. So I'd guess they'd probably switch to copper when ramping fab 25 to .13 (or lower if they skip a process generation) but not before.

Just my speculation.
