Toy... >>Your comments on Steve Adams should be held until after you see what Novell has to announce and present. I know for a fact that Steve Adams, Dave Shirk, and their combined teams have done exactly what you are accusing them of not doing.>> They've had six months in hibernation. Any plan that takes this long to develop should be connecting with energies and capturing the imagination of the world by now. This time last year Novell was on a roll. You could "see", "feel" and "sense" the dynamic kick-ass, "out there" attitude that was ready and willing to take on the world. If there's anything I'm accusing Steve and Dave of NOT doing, it relates to NOT creating excitement and energy. EXCITEMENT ENERGY ENTHUSIASM PASSION EVANGELISM Taken separate or combined, these are the service energies that are driving the Internet. It's one thing to feather bed with big corporate accounts. It's quite another thing to wake up and get the attention of customers and individuals who drive these accounts. Creating warm and fuzzy energy with the BIG Blues of the world is like marketing back in the 80's. Novell's BrainShare this year is a fraction of what it was last year. And I'll rest this right at the doorstep of Steve and Dave. I'm sure they have read these boards. But it's one thing to read these boards and quite another to actually face the hard, cold truth of what they represent. Novell needs to "give it up" - ie. stop the ongoing yearly routine which trys to impress. Novell needs to define ITS OWN PATH and blaze New Trails. They had this huge lead in Directory Services and for some crazy reason they almost want to apologize, ignore or kill off the creative outside and inside energies that could leverage this lead into an incredible story of vision, mission and leadership. And, no offense Toy, but I'd like to see you do more than stand up for the status quo. "Status quo" Novell has been spinning its wheels and draining energy out of this thing for the last year. Now if Steve and Dave decide to really dye their hair orange or green, I will concede....all bets are off. Someone please report back to me if they spot some organge and green hair color in these two. I'd feel much, much better. Energy, excitement, enthusiasm.... They need to get out of their offices, get on their horses, get tribal and get crazy. Peace. GO!!
