Scumbria, Cirrus,

"I have a K6-2 400 and it feels slow sometimes. I'm gonna upgrade soon."

I run a K6-2 333 and a Celeron 333.
K6-2 has 96Meg ram.
Celeron has 192Meg ram.

All I do is email and surf the net.

Windows still sucks. (though NT isn't nearly as bad as 95/98)
Hard drive is doing something all the time with that pagefile. Even bringing up bookmarks, it has to chew on something! 192Megs of ram and Gates has to chew on the hard drive.

Dualboot with Linux.
Pagefile is Zero with Linux on both machines.
HD never clicks.

Y'all might try it if you haven't, at least surfing and email. Memory management is slick.

Funny though, you still get the phantom Netscape running sometimes.
:o(

Disclaimer: I use the operating systems, I don't write them.
MSWindows sucks. Linux needs some more time but it is being refined by leaps and bounds. I've used Linux since RedHat 5.1, currently running 6.0

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
