Intel is selling the 1 GHz Pentium III into the "consumer" channel, which I consider to be a superset of the retail channel. Besides, you can't tell me that Dell and other direct-order OEMs are considered "retail."

To me, Costco is associated with two terms: cheap and high-volume. Do you think the appearance of the 1 GHz Athlon at Costco is proof that AMD has found a way to make those 1 GHz Athlons cheap and in high volumes? I know that's the prevailing notion over on the AMD thread, the same people who equate availability at Fry's with manufacturing yields.
