Hello Robert,

<< If you're in a sharing mood, what are your favorites in this area? >>

Sure. As storage pure plays, I currently own ANCR, EMC, and MTIC. I have been overweighted in Ancor for the last few years (last year was very nice, but this year has been...well, not so nice but still have good faith ;-) One should own the storage 'gorilla,' EMC imho. I like Ancor because second half of this year their revenue will ramp bc their Sunw OEM will kick in full gear. I like MTIC because they are using both NAS (networked attached storage) and FC (Fibre Channel) in ways no other company is and they are ramping now for places like Doubleclick.

Other storage companies I like to follow but do not own--

Brocade (leading Fibre Channel switch vendor)
Veritas (leading storage software)
Advanced Digital (leading tape storage vendor)
Network Appliance (leading Network Attached Storage providr)
Sun Microsystems (going full on into storage come summer)

Except for Advanced Digital, they are all pretty expensive so it's difficult.

And, of course, always looking for more ideas here? ;-)
