Paul - I am not a Jerry Sanders fan, but a couple of thoughts on the compensation. His $1M salary is at the maximum that can be granted - as I think you know, comgress enacted legislation that does not allow a corporation to deduct salary over $1M annually as an expense. The performance bonus gets around that limitation.

Having said that, Sanders is not even in the running for the overcompensation crown. The most recent issue of forbes lists a bunch of CEOs lured to various companies by compensation which exceeded $100M for each of the top 10 CEOs... Carly Fiorina got an honorable mention for her $80M deal to take the top job at HP. Many of the companies paying those packages don't even make money, or have much prospect of doing so. It all comes out of the shareholders.
